AFFIRMING HERBARIA'S VITAL ROLE
ABOUT
The Societ y of Herbarium Curators (SHC) is an organization
for discussion, action and support of herbaria. Created in
2005 in t he southeastern United States, the SHC mission is to
unite herbaria across the nation and around the world .
AWARDS
Deadline: 1 Feb 2016
Scope: Two $500 (graduate) and one $250 (undergraduat e) will
be awarded to students whose research contributes to or uses
herbarium resources in ways that augment the collections.
REGIONAL CHAPTERS
Chapters are forming to foster long-term governance
of initiatives set forth by regional herbaria.
NEWSLETIER
Bi-annual publication promotes community by informing members
of upcom ing elections, featured herbaria, floristic studies and other
research projects, comings and goings in the herbarium community,
herbaria in need of assistance, gifts, loans, and exchanges, and
memorable collecting trips or other anecdotes of interest.

Monday Ju ly 27th, 8 pm. Open to all.
MEMBERSHIP
Annual dues: Student ($5 USD), Regular ($10),
Sustaining ($25), life ($200).
