Other events are planned for the upcoming year so follow their activities on the CSHS on-
line platforms, including the CSHS website, Facebook page and Instagram account!
We invite CSHS student members to become involved in the Committee. If you are
interested, contact the Student Committee Chair, Sara Stricker (strickes@uoguelph.ca).
Becoming a member of the CSHS
Numerous benefits are offered to CSHS members including:
• Significantly reduced registration fees at the annual CSHS conferences and at the Plant
Canada Conference
• Reduced page charges to publish in the Canadian Journal of Plant Science
• Timely direct mail alerts to jobs, grant opportunities, etc.
• Eligibility to the Best CJPS Paper award for horticulture (which comes with an invitation to
be a conference speaker
In addition, for students, benefits also include:
• Eligibility for the Awards for oral and poster presentation
• Eligibility for Travel Awards to annual conference
• Community & Extension Funding, which supports student activities in introducing any form
of Horticulture science in communities
• Network between members, sharing of experiences about studies and research
