The local graduate students are rolling out the red carpet and invite all conference graduate students to celebrate the end of the student presentations at a local pub. The event is free to Society Students Members who pre-register for the event. All students will meet in Salon B after the Poster Session on Monday to pick up your tickets for the evening's adventures. The Social will start at 7 pm at O'Shea's Irish Pub at 222 2nd Avenue South.
Wine Education
Test your palate and wine IQ at this early evening event on Josie's Deck at the Hilton Garden Inn. We will have members of the International Sommelier Guild to guide you through the tasting of five wines and teach you what makes each one special through the different viticultural and vinification techniques used to produce them. Hors d'oeuvres selected to complement the wines will be served to demonstrate the influence of food-wine pairing. Pre-registration is required and the number of tickets is limited to 45 people maximum. The cost is $50 per person.

Now that we are all old friends, come out to the conference banquet to sip a little wine, share a few stories, and dance well into the evening hours. The banquet will be held in the Salon Rooms at TCU Place, starting at 18:30 h with a cash bar. Dinner will give you a taste of Saskatchewan's best agricultural products with classic prairie hospitality. Wine to complement the meal will be provided at each table. During the meal MARTIN JANOVSKY will tickle the ivories on the grand piano. After dinner you can limber up or down to the exotic international sounds from Brazil with music by SOLAR RIO. This band offers a sizzling performance guaranteed to thrill audiences with a creative mix of Brazilian jazz, Latin standards and up-tempo dance music. The band features Brazilian artists K.K. Nogueira on guitar and vocals, and Eduardo Valle on cavaquinho and percussion, along with accomplished local players Sheldon Corbett on saxophone, keyboards and flute, Lloyd Tomczak on bass, and Paul Benjamin on drums.
